What is a VPN?
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a secure, encrypted connection between your device and the internet. It protects your online activity from being tracked, monitored, or blocked — whether you’re browsing, streaming, or working remotely.
When you use a VPN, your internet traffic is routed through a private server. Instead of websites seeing your actual IP address, they see the IP of the VPN server. This adds a layer of privacy and can help you avoid throttling, surveillance, and geo-restrictions.
How Wylum’s VPN Is Different
At Wylum, we offer a unique type of VPN service:
Residential Dynamic IP Address
Your VPN traffic is routed through a real fiber-optic residential internet connection located in Boston, Massachusetts — not a datacenter. That means your online presence appears more natural to websites and services, reducing the chance of blocks or CAPTCHAs.
Fast & Private Fiber Connection
We use business-grade fiber internet with residential IPs for lower latency, strong privacy, and faster performance compared to typical VPN servers.
No Contracts, No Credit Checks
Pay month-to-month. We don’t track what you do, and we don’t require long-term commitments.
Why Use a VPN Like Wylum?

Reduce tracking and surveillance
Appear to be browsing from Boston, MA
Bypass IP-based restrictions or throttling

Simple. Private. Boston-based.
Wylum gives you the benefits of a VPN with the authenticity of a real residential connection.
How Wylum VPN Works
At Wylum, we provide secure, private VPN access through a real residential fiber internet connection based in Boston, Massachusetts. Unlike typical commercial VPN services that rely on datacenter IPs — which are often flagged or throttled — we route your connection through a dynamic residential IP address, giving you a more natural, trusted online presence.
When you connect to Wylum’s VPN, your internet traffic is securely tunneled through our server located at our business site in Boston. We offer two modern, encrypted connection options:
WireGuard
WireGuard is a next-generation VPN protocol known for its speed, efficiency, and simplicity. When you choose WireGuard, Wylum assigns you a unique configuration file. Once installed in your WireGuard app, you can connect instantly. The connection is encrypted using state-of-the-art cryptography, and your traffic is routed through our Boston-based fiber line — appearing to the internet as a regular residential user with a dynamic IP.
Static-Residential IP
A static-residential IP is a fixed IP address assigned from a residential ISP range (as opposed to a datacenter). “Static” means the IP doesn’t change over time, and “residential” means it appears to come from a home user, not a server farm. These are used for better trust with websites and services that block datacenter or commercial IPs.
Our setup is different by design. We don’t use shared hosting providers or rented server farms. Instead, Wylum’s VPN runs on a dedicated fiber optic business connection with a shared-static IP addresses assigned by a Massachusetts ISP. This means:
Your traffic blends in naturally with real household traffic.
You’re less likely to be flagged by websites or services.
Whether you’re looking for privacy, IP consistency, or just a more trustworthy online identity, Wylum delivers a fast, no-contract VPN solution that keeps things simple and secure.
